ADULT CPR/AED & FIRST AID

Please note: This class is Adult CPR/AED and First Aid. This class will not update current lifeguards for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. If you are a lifeguard needing to renew your CPR/AED certification, please go to the Lifeguard Training page.

This American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid course will teach you how to recognize and respond to emergencies for ages 12 and older including:

  • Learn about and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults
  • Learn about and understanding the automated external defibrillator
  • Learn about and care for conscious and unconscious choking for adults
  • Learn about and care for heat and cold emergencies
  • Learn about and care for sudden illnesses and poisonings
  • First aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries
    •

    Upon completion of all class requirements student will receive an Adult CPR/AED certificate valid for 2 years, as well as a First Aid certificate valid for 2 years. Certificates will be given to the student at class.

  • Although there is not a minimum age requirement for CPR/AED, it is recommended students be at least 12 years of age. The skills and written test require focus and a level of comprehension.

  • GHPM reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Minimum enrollment required: 8 students

  • Only participating students are allowed in the classroom during class times. If you are dropping off a child in the class, please return at least 15 minutes before the end of class to pick up your child. There is a $1.00/minute fee if the instructor must remain after class to wait for the parents. This fee will be collected by the instructor.

    Cancelations

  • Cancellations made one (1) week before to the first day of class will receive a refund less a $20.00 non-refundable administrative fee.

  • No refunds will be issued if you do not give notice that you are unable to attend the class.

  • All cancellations must be made via email to hrd@greaterhoustonpool.com.
    •
  • Credit card payments will be credited back to the same card. Cash and check payments will be refunded by check, and will take approximately four (4) weeks to process. No cash refunds will be issued.
