2012 Lifeguard Training Review

ELIGIBILITY FOR LG REVIEW CLASS:

• You must have taken Lifeguard Training in the last 4 years and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer within the last 2 years to be able to participate in the LG review class.

AMERICAN RED CROSS PREREQUISITES:
(prerequisite is performed on first day of class)

• 300 yard swim: 100 yards front crawl, 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards either breaststroke or front crawl
• Swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point holding the object with two hands in under 1 minute and 40 seconds

CLASS DETAILS:
All students must pay by credit card at the time of registration. Please talk to your parents before you start the registration process.

• This course includes CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and BBP Training. You do not need to register for a separate CPR/AED course.
• Students are required to attend all class dates and times listed for each specific class
• Students must arrive 10 minutes early before each scheduled class
• Students are required to bring their pocket mask and the 2012 American Red Cross Lifeguard Training book. You may purchase a new pocket mask $12 and LG book for $20 at the class.

ITEMS PROVIDED BY GHPM:

• American Red Cross certification cards for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, LG Training/FA and Training in Bloodborne Pathogens.(if individual passes all ARC requirements)

ITEMS NEEDED FOR CLASSES:

• Bathing suit, towels, change of clothes, 2012 Lifeguard Training book, CPR pocket mask, pen or pencil, and notebook for notes.

LUNCHES AND BREAKS:

• Lunch Breaks: PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING LUNCH EACH DAY. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE CLASS TO PURCHASE LUNCH.
• Breaks: There will be small 5 to 10 minute breaks throughout the class.

FEES-If you are applying for employment with GHPMI for the 2012 season, you can pay the employee fee. All others will pay the additional non-employee fee of $50.00.

Credit card payment will ensure your spot in the class, but if you want to pay by check, please email eugeniab@greaterhoustonpool.com.

To pay by check- Do not continue the registration process through the website. Use the email above to request the registration form. We will email a registration form designed for check payments. You can always stop by the Cypress office to register and pay.

NON-GHPM EMPLOYEES- Click on link below. Follow directions on website to create an account. To complete the registration process, you must enter credit card (visa, master card or discover) information and you will be emailed a registration receipt and confirmation letter.

All non employees must pay the non employee fee-$50.00 more than the employee rate. This will be automatically calculated during your check out process. Non-Employees are required to pay by credit card.
